Railways Gallery

In the heyday of rail travel the village could boast the junction of three rail systems.   Construction of the the cuttings and embankments still remain, even for the now closed sections.  The major line, the former LMS Derby to Leeds line continues to progress.   Currently (1917) there are moves afoot seeking support to re-open the old Methley North Station – that would be a boon offering a different and speedy journey into Leeds.
